Disc pumps are being used successfully in an extremely wide range of industries. The pumps are ideally suited to hard-to-pump applications, where the disc pump's unique minimal contact pumping mechanism excels at handling abrasive, viscous, high solids, and heavily air and gas-entrained fluids - without breakdown and with almost zero wear. The pumps are also perfect for handling delicate and shear sensitive products, where the minimal contact ensures no damage to the product and no emulsification.

  • Shear sensitive chemicals: eg polymer emulsions, latexes, crystals, shear dilatant, shear thixotropic
  • Viscous fluids: eg waste sludge, tank bottoms, black beauty, paint skins, oil sludge, asphalt, etc
  • Abrasive fluids: eg borax, drilling mud, sand slurries with up to 80% solids, crystals, etc
  • Air or gas-entrained fluids: eg crude oil, chemical froths, DAF sludge
  • High temperature or pressure processes: disc pumps can be manufactured to API-610, 8th Edition

Pulp and Paper Manufacture

  • Chemical recovery: eg green liquor dregs, black liquor soaps, clarifier sludge, etc
  • Paper stock and pulp: up to 18%+ density with no dilution and no external fluidizer required
  • Paper coatings: polymer emulsions, latexes, kaolin clay slurries, titanium dioxide slurries up to 80% solids, bentonite solutions, etc
  • Effluent and powerhouse areas: eg lime sludge, knotter rejects, ash slurries, DAF sludge, etc

Wastewater Treatment and Disposal

  • Viscous and high solids fluids: all types of municipal and industrial waste sludge, sewage
  • Abrasive fluids: eg lime sludge, waste from mining, sand slurries with up to 80% solids
  • Air or gas-entrained fluids: eg DAF sludge and other types of anaerobic sludge
  • Large and/or stringy solids: by widening the spacing between the discs in the Discpac, solids up to 20" [50mm] can be pumped

Food Processing & Sugar Manufacture

  • Viscous and high solids fluids: eg molasses, sugar slurries with up to 80% solids, pet food sludge, brewery waste, slaughter house waste, etc
  • Abrasive fluids: eg sugar slurries, meat waste with bones, blood, oyster shell slurry, etc
  • Delicate and shear sensitive foodstuff: eg citrus oil, corn kernels, sugar crystals, rice, fruit, etc
  • Large and/or stringy solids: by widening the spacing between the discs in the Discpac, solids up to 20" [50mm] can be pumped, eg whole chickens
